I think that this is the second meeting in which paper PR/S2/05/4/16 has floated around with us. It is on the admissibility of public petitions. Will that be on the agenda?
I was going to suggest that we defer that item to a future meeting. It is not urgent and members have pressures on their time.
In the paper, the question arises of whether to invite the convener of the Public Petitions Committee. If our time is restricted, it might be wasting time to wait until our next meeting to decide whether to invite him to a future meeting.
The only restrictions on our time are at this meeting. There is no particular rush for us to deal with the item, so we can defer it. We may have to defer it for a couple of meetings, as we have quite a lot of business to get through to ensure that we have the report on private bills ready for the 11 May debate. Is that acceptable to members?
