Agenda item 3 is on correspondence relating to the Equality and Human Rights Commission. Members will see that paper 1 suggests two options: either to take no further action or to invite the EHRC to respond to the issues that have been raised.
Should we ask them to respond in writing?
We could invite them along to respond in person, but it is entirely up to us. We could invite them for a one-off evidence session.
Given current pressures, it might be best to see what they say in writing and then decide whether we want to bring them in to cross-examine them.
Do we agree to write to the EHRC to ask for a response to the issues that were raised?
That will be our initial response. Thank you for that.
