Health Board Elections (Scotland) Bill
Item 2 is consideration of our approach to stage 1 of the Health Board Elections (Scotland) Bill. We agreed a timetable at our most recent meeting, but prior to the formal commencement of stage 1 the committee is invited to agree to issue a call for evidence on the general principles of the bill and to consider whether we want to write directly to relevant organisations.
A paper has been circulated, appendices to which set out a draft call for evidence and a provisional list of stakeholders who we might invite to submit evidence. In paragraph 7 it is proposed that we issue a call for written evidence, based on the draft in appendix 1, formally invite written submissions, set a deadline of Friday 25 August for the receipt of written submissions and instruct the clerks to prepare a paper that identifies possible witnesses for oral evidence sessions after the summer recess.
