Cross-party Groups

The Convener:

Our first agenda item is consideration of applications for recognition of cross-party groups. There are three applications before us, and members have copies of the forms submitted.

We will take the applications in order, the first of which is from the Scottish Parliament cross-party oil and gas group. Do members have any comments on the application?

It seems entirely in order. A large number of members from several parties wish to join the group.

It seems fine.

Do members have any comments on the second application, which is from the cross-party group on older people, age and aging?

I think that my earlier comments apply. A large number of members from all parties wish to join. The application seems in order.

Before I ask members whether they have any comments on the third application, which is from the Borders rail cross-party group, I will ask Christine Grahame whether she has anything to say about the application.

Christine Grahame (South of Scotland) (SNP):

I simply want to apologise for my handwriting. We thought that the feasibility study was coming out today, so we had to rush to make the group conform to the rules and to submit the application in time. It was all done within 24 hours after intimation.

Do members have any comments on the application?

It seems fine. There is cross-party support on the issue.

Okay. I will ask the clerks to write to the convener of each cross-party group and to let them know formally that we have approved the three applications.

Are the groups functioning as of now?

Yes.

Thank you.
