Council Tax Reduction (State Pension Credit) (Scotland) Regulations 2012 (SSI 2012/319)
The second item of business today is consideration of a Scottish statutory instrument. The regulations relate to the establishment of a scheme for reduction of council tax liability and will apply to people who have reached the qualifying age for state pension credit. Members have before them the regulations and an extract from the Subordinate Legislation Committee’s report, which draws attention to matters of clarity in the drafting of the instrument, and to a number of minor drafting errors. Members may wish to note that the Scottish Government has undertaken to make amending regulations that will correct some of the points that have been identified by the Subordinate Legislation Committee.
