Our next item is consideration of two negative instruments. Members have no comments to make on the instruments. Does the committee agree to make no recommendation to the Parliament on the instruments?

Members indicated agreement.

This is Joan McAlpine’s final meeting with the Education and Culture Committee. She has been with us since the 2011 election—the whole session so far. She is moving on to the Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee, I believe—once the Parliament agrees to that, obviously.

I put on record my thanks for Joan’s effort and support over the past nearly three years on this committee. I am sure that I speak for all members in thanking her very much for all her input, particularly into the proposed legislation that we have considered, and especially on the inquiries that we undertook into looked-after children. Thank you very much, Joan, for your work and effort over the past three years.
