Today we will consider a complaint against Kenny MacAskill and Tricia Marwick. At our meeting on 25 June 2003, the committee agreed to conduct its own investigation into the complaint before reaching a final judgment on the report produced by the acting Scottish parliamentary standards commissioner. As part of that investigation, we will hear evidence from several individuals this morning. However, before we proceed to the evidence taking, we must decide how to take items 4 and 6. Item 4 is a review of the evidence that we have heard and consideration of lines of questioning. Item 6 is a discussion on how to take forward our investigation. I propose that both items be taken in private. Do members agree to that proposal?
