Official Report 80KB pdf
The annual report has been redrafted since we commented on it last week. Are there any further comments?
Had I been here last week, I would have said that I thought that what is now the second-last paragraph should be the first paragraph, simply because it states the volume of work that the committee has had to deal with. When people read reports, they often read only the first paragraph. It is worth noting the volume of work that the committee has handled. Reordering the paragraphs would place more emphasis on that, but that is merely a presentational point.
I have no objections to that. It is simply a matter of cutting and pasting, which, I have to admit, is still beyond my computer skills. If it is simply a presentational change and there are no problems with the general outline of the report, we can do that.
As this is our last meeting before the recess, I suggest that we publicly thank the clerks and our legal adviser, Margaret Macdonald, for all their work throughout the year.
I heartily endorse that vote of thanks, which brings our meeting to a conclusion.
