Decision on Taking Business in Private

The Convener (Christine Grahame)

I welcome everyone to the sixth meeting in 2014 of the Justice Sub-Committee on Policing. I ask everyone to switch off mobile phones and other electronic devices completely. We have received apologies from Margaret Mitchell, who is on parliamentary business elsewhere.

Under agenda item 1, we are invited to agree to take items 2 and 3 in private. Item 2 is consideration of a draft report and item 3 is a discussion of our work programme. Do members agree to take those items in private?

Members indicated agreement.

Although I agree to do that, there is certainly interest in aspects of what our future work programme will be, and I hope that there will be an opportunity to share it with the media.

The work programme will be published, but it is the usual practice of the Justice Committee and this sub-committee to discuss our work programme in private.

Yes, indeed—I am supportive of that approach.

Excellent.

We now move into private session.

13:01 Meeting continued in private until 13:52.
