Items in Private

The Convener:

Item 1 on the agenda is to agree to take item 2, which is a discussion of the emerging findings of the inquiry into the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service, in private. Do members agree to take that item in private?

Members indicated agreement.

Do members agree to consider item 3, on the committee's forward work programme, in private?

Members indicated agreement.

The Convener:

The next meeting will be on 27 February. The committee will take further evidence on the Sexual Offences (Procedure and Evidence) (Scotland) Bill. After we considered the amendments to the bill, the Executive presented more amendments on previous convictions. We will hear from Professor Chris Gane and the Law Society of Scotland. That will give us a chance to consider the Executive amendments before we move to stage 3.

We will also consider petition PE336, on asbestosis victims, and the draft report on stage 1 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Bill.

Meeting continued in private until 11:35.
