Deputy Convener

The Convener:

Item 2 is the choosing of a deputy convener. Under rule 12.1.2 of standing orders, the Parliament decides on a motion of the Parliamentary Bureau who is eligible to be nominated as deputy convener. The Parliament has agreed that members of the Scottish National Party are eligible for nomination as deputy convener. I therefore seek nominations from members of that party; however, as Bruce McFee is not here, I suppose that I had better do it. I would be delighted to nominate Stewart Stevenson. I have worked with him in the past and know that he was a valued member of the Justice 2 Committee. I would be delighted to have him as deputy convener.

Stewart Stevenson was chosen as deputy convener.
