Good morning and welcome to the 17th meeting this session of the Justice 1 Committee. We have apologies from Stewart Maxwell, who cannot be with us this morning. I would be grateful if members would do the usual and switch off their mobile phones, if they have not already done so. I also formally welcome Paul Burns, who is adviser to the committee.

I invite the committee to agree to deal in private with item 6 because it relates to consideration of candidates for the post of adviser to assist the committee in its proposed inquiry into the effectiveness of rehabilitation programmes in Scottish prisons. Is that agreed?
