Scottish Parliament Finance Committee Tuesday 21 February 2006

[The Convener opened the meeting at 10:03]

The Convener (Des McNulty):

Good morning. I welcome members, witnesses, the press and the public to the Finance Committee's fifth meeting of 2006. As usual, I remind members to switch off all pagers and mobile phones.

We have received apologies from Wendy Alexander and Mark Ballard. On the committee's behalf, I congratulate them on recently having had children. We will send each of them a card. They should be congratulated on contributing to growth in Scotland's population.

I hope that that is not a hint for the rest of the committee.

Apparently it is for the under-40s.

I welcome Robin Harper, who is here as the Green party substitute. Do you have any relevant interests to declare?

I do not think that I have.
