Interests

I welcome members, the press and the public to the 27th meeting of the Finance Committee in 2004. I remind members to switch off all pagers and mobile phones. No apologies have been received and we are all present.

Since the previous meeting, Kate Maclean has resigned from the committee because of pressure of work from two other committees. We are pleased to welcome Frank McAveety as her replacement. I place on record the committee's thanks to Kate for her work on the Finance Committee, if that is agreeable.

Members indicated agreement.

Under agenda item 1, I ask our new member, Frank McAveety, to declare any relevant interests.

As far as I understand it, I have no relevant interests in relation to the Finance Committee. I refer members to my entry in the register of members' interests.
