Good afternoon and welcome to the eighth meeting in 2006 of the European and External Relations Committee. The only apology that I have received is from Mr Charlie Gordon, who will be late, because he is serving on the Edinburgh Airport Rail Link Bill Committee.

Our first item is to consider whether to take in private item 8, which is a discussion of the committee's response to the draft national strategic reference framework. Do members agree to take that in private?
