Agenda item 2 is the choice of deputy convener. The Parliament agreed by motion S7M-00269 on 4 June that only members of the Scottish Green Party are eligible to be chosen as deputy convener of the committee. On that basis, Ariane Burgess is the only member who is eligible for the position.
Ariane, can you confirm that you are content to be nominated as a candidate who is eligible for selection as deputy convener?

As you said in your opening remarks, convener, this is a very important committee, and I look forward to our working constructively together. I see this parliamentary session as being the one when we need to get climate change right, but it is not just about climate change—we are also looking at biodiversity loss. There are reports from the United Kingdom Government on global biodiversity loss that give us an additional lens to look through. We have crucial work to do, and I hope that we can play a role in supporting other committees to look through that lens, too.
