Members of the Committee were invited to declare any relevant interests. Cara McKee declared interests as a former employee of North Ayrshire Council, and in relation to previous work with midwifery researcher, Professor Mary Renfrew. Other members said that they had no relevant interests to declare.
The Committee chose David Torrance as its Deputy Convener.
The Committee agreed to take item 4 in private.
The Committee considered its work programme. The Committee agreed to note the legacy report of the Citizen Participation and Public Petitions Committee. The Committee agreed to write to the Scottish Government about eight petitions carried over from the Citizen Participation and Public Petitions Committee. The Committee agreed to hold a Business Planning Day on Monday 31 August 2026, and delegated responsibility for final arrangements to the Convener.
