1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3 and 4 in private.


2. Climate Change Committee – Progress in reducing emissions in Scotland – 2023 Report to Parliament:

The Committee took evidence from—

Chris Stark, Chief Executive and Professor Keith Bell, Scotland Champion, Climate Change Committee.

Edward Mountain declared an interest as a Partner in Delfur Farms Farming Partnership, of Moray, a farming business with ancillary residential lettings.

Monica Lennon declared that she is a member of Unite the Union and the GMB Trade Union.


3. Climate Change Committee – Progress in reducing emissions in Scotland – 2023 Report to Parliament (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard earlier under agenda item 2.


4. Work programme (In Private):

The Committee considered its work programme.

The Committee agreed an approach to future consideration of appointments to the Scottish Land Commission.

The Committee agreed to hold a Business Planning Day.

The Committee agreed to support a proposal for Scottish Parliament attendance at the 2024 Arctic Circle Assembly.

The Committee agreed to defer consideration of other work programme items to a future meeting.
