1. Cost-effectiveness of Scottish public inquiries:

The Committee took evidence from—

Professor Carl Dahlström, Professor of Political Science, University of Gothenburg;

Dr Scott Prasser, Public Policy Consultant and Commentator;

and then from—

Wendy McGuinness, Chief Executive, the McGuinness Institute.


2. Pre-Budget Scrutiny 2026-27: Responding to long-term fiscal pressures (In Private):

The Committee considered and agreed draft reports on its pre-budget scrutiny 2026-27 and its fact-finding visit to Lithuania and agreed the arrangements for their publication.


3. Work programme (In Private):

The Committee considered and agreed its work programme. The Committee also agreed to consider proposed Contingent Liabilities in private at its next meeting.
