1. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 3, 4 and 5 in private.

2. International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR):

The Committee took evidence from—

Kaukab Stewart, Minister for Equalities, Cat McMeeken, Deputy Director, Equality, Ian Davidson, Deputy Director for Social Security Policy and Alexandra Devoy, Human Rights Policy Lead (Treaties and International), Scottish Government.

3. International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) (In Private):

The Committee considered the evidence it heard under agenda item 2.

4. Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill (UK Parliament legislation) (In Private):

The Committee considered and agreed its approach to the legislative consent memorandum lodged by Shirley-Anne Somerville MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, (LCM-S6-54).

5. Scottish Human Rights Commission (In Private):

The Committee considered and agreed its approach to the Commission's report on progress in moving people from institutions to independent living following its evidence session on 1 April 2025.
