1 Hunting with Dogs (Scotland) Bill:
The Committee took evidence to inform its forthcoming consideration of Stage 2 amendments from—
Hugh Dignon, Head of Wildlife Management Unit, Leia Fitzgerald, Team Leader, Wildlife Legislation Team, Rebecca Greenan, Deputy Team Leader, Wildlife Legislation Team and Amy Hogarth, Solicitor, Scottish Government.
The Committee agreed to take further evidence at its next meeting.
2 UK subordinate legislation:
The Committee considered a proposal by the Scottish Government to consent to the UK Government legislating using the powers under the European Union Withdrawal Act 2018 Act in relation to the following UK statutory instrument—
Organic Production (Amendment) (No 2) Regulations 2022.
The Committee agreed that the provisions set out in the notification should be included in the UK SI.
3 Public petitions: PE01758 End greyhound racing in Scotland
The Committee considered a petition by Gill Docherty on behalf of Scotland Against Greyhound Exploitation, calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to put an end to greyhound racing in Scotland.
The Committee agreed to defer consideration of this agenda item to its next meeting.
