In March 2025, the Committee held evidence sessions focussed on the bus and rail sectors and the challenges public transport users, staff and operators face.
This builds on earlier scrutiny of the bus and (especially) rail sectors in this session (see “completed work” for links to this work).
The Committee will continue to keep a watching brief over these sectors. It is likely to make use of the evidence heard during these two sessions in April 2025 in future scrutiny, including of the draft Climate Change Plan expected later in 2025, and in making recommendations on the 2026-27 Scottish budget.
