Reducing drug deaths in Scotland and tackling problem drug use

The Criminal Justice Committee, Health, Social Care and Sport Committee and Social Justice and Social Security Committee worked together to consider the progress made on the implementation of the recommendations of the Scottish Drug Deaths Taskforce.

The Committees published their legacy report on 6 March 2026

The report recommends that a joint approach to the scrutiny of the Scottish Government’s work to reduce drug deaths and tackle drug harm must continue in Session 7 of the Scottish Parliament.
