The best advice that we have is that it is ECHR compliant. I am sure that you have followed the evidence that the committee has received in recent weeks.
We have been here before, with a request for urgent action followed by a longer-term framework. I checked my e-mail this morning and my briefing note from the Scottish Government arrived at 11.57 last night.
Committee consideration
The Committee has taken evidence on the Bill in five meetings as follows—
18 June 2023: Scottish Government Bill Team;
24 October 2023: Two panels representing accommodation providers;
31 October 2023: Local authorities followed by the European Tourism Association (ETOA);
7 November 2023: Representatives of the tourism sector followed by Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) and other local stakeholders.
14 November 2023: COSLA followed by the Minister.
Thank you for that succinct response. Can I just follow up one point? Is not there surely a danger in that if we word the provision too loosely the definition could become so wide that difficulties arise?
