Finally, in order to make crystal clear my expectation that Monklands hospital will continue to provide a full range of appropriate services as an integral part of NHS Lanarkshire, I announced that up to £100 million would be provided in the NHS Scotland capital programme, for the regeneration of Monklands hospital.That programme of action requires NHS Lanarkshire to deliver measures to ensure that necessary improvements are in place before changes are made to A and E provision.
