We do not want to make that an excessively onerous process, but it is a democratic safeguard.The bill already takes on board the points that Des McNulty made, especially at section 1(2)(c), where there is a requirement for procedures that, with our amendments, can deliver what Des intends.
Indeed, your two positions are quite close. Obviously, it is hard to pin down things at the moment because basically we are looking at a snapshot in a movie.
The petition is about one issue; many other issues must be examined. If post offices introduced automated banking, which would extend the facilities that they offered in rural communities, that might enhance their revenue.

To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S1W-34108 by Des McNulty on 26 February 2003, when a decision will be made on the wind farm public inquiry.
The Framework for Mental Health Services in Scotland encourages all care agencies to promote mental health and engage actively in health promotion, including action to de-stigmatise mental illness. S1W-08028
On the IT front, the systems that we are putting in automate the bulk of the processing; a lot of the paperwork is done electronically, so we do not need people to push paper about.
I also thank all current and past members of the committee during the session, including the previous convener, Des McNulty, who convened the committee for much of the session.
