The instrument is made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 13(1) of the Scottish Biometrics Commissioner Act 2020. The purpose of the instrument is to specify the day appointed for the coming into effect of the code of practice ("the Code") prepared by the Scottish Biometrics Commissioner under section 7 of the Scottish Biometrics Commissioner Act 2020 (the 2020 Act), and approved by the Scottish Ministers under section 12(2)(a) of the 2020 Act.
