Some years ago, I tried to help some newsagents who had problems with a wholesaler of magazines who had a virtual monopoly. However, the monopoly people in London said that there was no monopoly, because the newsagents could drive down to Berwick or Carlisle and fill up with magazines from some other wholesaler.
