The Leader+(Scotland) Programmecurrently operates as a Community Initiative under the European Structural Fundsand will continue to run through to June 2008 although has to be fully committedby 31 December 2006, project activity completed by 31 December 2007 and administrationcosts payable until 30 June 2008.From 2007 Leader will be mainstreamedin the Scottish Rural Development Programme andresponsibility will transfer to Environment and Rural Affairs Department.At this moment it is not possibleto say what the funding level for Leader 2007-13 will be as the European fundingallocation for rural development to member states has not been finalised but leaderwill play a key role in the delivery of the Scottish Rural Development Programmeand will be in place during 2007.
