The Homelessness Task Force, which I chair, is taking a wide-ranging look at the underlying nature and causes of homelessness and as part of our programme of work we will be considering youth homelessness and benefit issues.

Local authorities must establish best value in the delivery of works under the Warm Deal and satisfy themselves as to quality control procedures. The remainder of the programme is administered by Eaga. The contractors they use are appointed by competitive tendering.

To ask the Scottish Executive whether the current methodology for allocating financial resources to tackle deprivation is effective in identifying all areas of relative poverty and social and economic disadvantage. Across the Executive's programmes, a number of methods of allocating resources for tackling deprivation are used.
