CPG Womens Health 1 October 21 Minutes
Topics for future meetings • ML noted that in the last session, the CPG covered the following topics: o My Body Back project (cervical screening, contraceptive care, STI testing and maternity care for people who’ve experienced sexual violence. o Menopause and the workplace o Endometriosis o Lipoedema o Heart health o Pause programme and conditional healthcare o The impact of the pandemic on women’s health o Miscarriage care o The healthcare experience of Black and Minority Ethnic women o Heart Health (joint meeting with CPG on Heart & Stroke) o Mental health • There were a number of suggestions from the group about future topics, including: o Scrutiny of the SG Women’s Health Plan, including the exploration of the need for legislative underpinning o Menopause in the workplace (It was noted that Collette Stevenson MSP is currently seeking a member’s debate on this topic) o Peri-menopause o Mental health link with menstrual health o Lack of funding for research into women’s health o Women’s health links with un/employment o Women’s health for women in rural and remote areas 2 • Actions arising: o Convener to invite Minister to next meeting o Convener to initiate inquiry for piece of in-depth work o Convener/Secretariat to work closely with APPG on Women’s Health via the secretariat, FSRH o Convener/Secretariat to consider Survey Monkey to agree focus of the group’s future meetings o Convener/Secretariat to ensure that future meetings track progress of the Women’s Health Plan at future meetings Item 4.
