My amendments were drawn up by the Law Society following work that was done by others and following stage 1, when the committee flagged up our concern that we were missing an opportunity to clarify the role of the safeguarder.
A good job is being done; a choice has been made, and we back it. There being no follow-up questions on police funding, we will discuss prisons funding.
I am sorry to return to an earlier point but, following the minister's exchange with the convener, I am slightly less clear about the priority that is to be given to the creation of jobs.
