The Committee notes the concerns that have been raised about the risk of individuals engaging in so-called 'doctor shopping' as a means of accessing assisted dying in situations where their initial request for assistance is declined following assessment by a medical practitioner.

Conversely though, it was emphasised that non-digital means of engagement should be protected and maintained, and that "people who do not have digital access must be able to follow parliamentary proceedings and be given the same opportunities to contribute" (Age Scotland).
