I am slightly confused about an answer that Dr Forsyth gave to Mary Scanlon. If I heard Mary Scanlon right, she asked whether an over-the-counter headache remedy would have the same effect on someone taking it with water as it would on someone taking it with caffeine and Buckfast.

Does he agree that that model confirms that tried and tested learning by phonetic methods and basic number patterns remains the most successful way of raising educational standards among primary school children?
