I would like to ask the two witnesses about short-term assistance. My understanding is that short-term assistance kicks in if somebody already has an award and that award could either be removed or reduced.

We received a presentation from Maureen Douglas on Scotland’s shared apprenticeship programme and also from Stephanie Lowe from Scotland and Northern Ireland Plumbers Employers Federation (SNIPEF) and from Anne Galbraith of the Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust (SECTT).
Whilst this funding is welcomed, RTPI Scotland are aware that the total available funds have been reduced from previous investment programmes and there are issues regarding their long-term certainty.
Furthermore, we are funding Rape Crisis Scotland to help deliver programmes which aim to tackle sexual harassment and violence in our schools including their national sexual violence programme which is aimed at local secondary schools across Scotland.
And at Scottish Government level, clarity around the role, value and eligibility of cultural activity across national investment and strategic programmes appears to be incremental and, on a case, -by-case basis.
