Herresponse is as follows:This information is notavailable.The central heating programme,in the private sector, is available to all eligible over 60s, therefore not allapplicants to the programme are pensioners.
To ask the Scottish Executive whether it has any plans to review its central heating installation programme The programme is kept under review to ensure that it continues to deliver benefits to elderly people and address fuel poverty.

The current process, due for completion by April 2003, will determine the need to retain existing and develop new programmes. It would therefore not be appropriate to establish new programmes before this process is concluded.

To ask the Scottish Executive what procedures are in place for people to apply for free central heating and insulation under its Central Heating Programme. A guide to the Central Heating Programme encouraging applications has been published for the private sector and widely distributed across Scotland.
