*S5M-08764 Lewis Macdonald: Aberdeen City Council Earns Living Wage Accreditation That the Parliament welcomes Aberdeen City Council s accreditation as a Living — ’ Wage Employer in 2017, covering all framework agency workers as well as direct council employees; understands that Aberdeen City Council received its accreditation having been assessed against criteria set by the Poverty Alliance, and that the award coincides with Living Wage Week, which runs until 11 November 2017; acknowledges that achieving Living Wage Employer accreditation is an important milestone for Aberdeen City Council as one of the largest employers in the region, and hopes that other public and private sector employers in the north east of Scotland will follow its example and pay their staff at least the living wage.
