The difficulty is that, in the long term, it is inappropriate for City of Edinburgh Council to be called on to provide almost 70 per cent of the resources of an organisation that primarily serves international students while Edinburgh universities and colleges contribute less than 20 per cent towards the costs of running the service.I understand that a meeting has been set for 24 May between the council and the principals of the colleges and universities in Edinburgh.

I thank the minister for that answer and congratulate him on his promotion to Deputy Minister for Health and Community Care. Applause. He may be aware that the two general hospitals in Fife have separate, dedicated hospices for some terminally ill patients, but that is not the case everywhere.
