To ask the Scottish Executive how many prisons employ a race relations liaison officer. As part of the current Scottish Prison Service race relations policy, every prison in Scotland has an Ethnic Minorities Liaison Officer who deals with race relations issues.

There should be close liaison between social work departments and the police, but the women concerned also need to be given advice and information, and the local police should be made aware that there is a potential risk so that they can respond appropriately.

To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S1W-21931 by Malcolm Chisholm on 30 January 2002, whether it plans to give Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and its Enterprise and Lifelong Learning Department representation on the Pharmaceutical Liaison Group. The Executive has no plans to extend representation on the Pharmaceutical Liaison Group to include the organisations mentioned in the question.
