If the NRPB guidelines are the basis on which 700 TETRA masts are being approved throughout Scotland, there is a problem and a committee of the Parliament has to unpack the issue and the NRPB guidelines.There is a sense of urgency because the first police area in Scotland to use the system will start to do so in July, and the other areas will follow shortly...

I suggest that when we write to ministers in the future—especially Mr Kerr, but other ministers, too—the letter should have an introductory paragraph, followed by a list of numbered questions.

It would be useful to take up Bill Butler's suggestion and have an informal briefing from the Executive, followed by oral evidence from the minister, but there would also be some value in taking oral evidence from the Law Society earlier in the process rather than later, to ensure that we pick up on everything that we should.
