The JCVI consists of a wide range of highly qualified professionals, as well as lay members to provide the Committee with a wider lay perspective on issues.
However, we must recognise that local authorities are democratically elected and accountable for their own decisions. I am accountable for decisions that I make, but other players and politicians are accountable for the decisions that they make.
