In 2019, the Scottish Government began a gradual shift from its previous employability strategy, Fair Start Scotland, to its new strategy, No One Left Behind (NOLB).
NOLB is intended to de-clutter the employability support landscape and develop a more streamlined, consistent offer of support.

While tourism is a mainstay of the island economies and supports the northern settlements, in many parts of North Ayrshire the local economy has yet to recover from de-industrialisation.
