After discussion with members, I can also confirm that we will seek a meeting in Aberdeen with the north-east Scotland economic development partnership to discuss issues related to the road structure in Aberdeen. It may well be that we will want to hear from the partnership about the roads before we have the private session on the water inquiry.

I am pleased that the Executive has seen the light on this issue, has abandoned its preference for it to be dealt with by guidance notes and has accepted the need to have written notes of procedure and possible sanctions for individuals who are in alleged contravention of the councillors—or, as it may be, members—code, as incorporated in the bill.
