Official Report Meeting date: 16 June 2004

Environment and Rural Development Committee, 16 Jun 2004

Is the immediate family the subject of the clause, or are there two subjects, the first being "the immediate family" and the second being "a director or secretary"? No. Just a second. Before we get ourselves totally tied up in knots about how the grammar could or should be expressed in that paragraph, perhaps the minister should tell us clearly what the int...
Official Report Meeting date: 1 June 2004

Enterprise and Culture Committee, 01 Jun 2004

The number of discussions that we have outwith Edinburgh will have some budgetary significance, but that depends on how many suggestions we get. If members are willing to e-mail their suggestions, we will take them on board.

Official Report Meeting date: 24 June 2003

Procedures Committee, 24 Jun 2003

It is a running sore, but we could sort it quickly. I believe in getting the easy stuff out of the way quickly so that we make some early gains, which starts to give the process some credibility.
Official Report Meeting date: 25 March 2003

Public Petitions Committee, 25 Mar 2003

It is obviously too late to deal with the petition, given that the war has begun, but the question of the legality of the war is a matter that may be an issue long after the war is over.We can either take no further action on the petition or we can agree to request comments from the Attorney General, who claims that the war is legal, and leave it to our successor committee to respond to the response that we get...
Official Report Meeting date: 18 March 2003

Public Petitions Committee, 18 Mar 2003

As the minister dealt with the point that Fergus Ewing wants us to raise with him, I do not know whether there is any point in us pursuing the issue further, because we will get the same answer. Perhaps we should send a copy of that letter to Fergus Ewing and point out that the matter has been dealt with.
