I expect all HR departments in NHS boards to behave with dignity. If Mary Scanlon has cases that she wants to bring to my attention, I am more than happy to discuss them with her.I agree absolutely with Mary Scanlon and Bill Wilson about the importance of the issue.

That is partly because of the support for our decisions that we get from the clerks, but the convener has a major role to play in all that. On Mary Fee’s question, one of the perverse results of having a very tight timetable is that the European and External Relations Committee has had to become quite fleet of foot.
