Supported by: Bill Kidd*, Kenneth Gibson*, Stuart McMillan*, Ruth Maguire*, Alex Cole-Hamilton* *S5M-18632 Keith Brown: Makaton Rocks Signing Group Supports Scotland Team—That the Parliament congratulates the Makaton Rocks signing group, formed of pupils from Lochies School in Sauchie, Clackmannanshire, for their excellent performance of Flower of Scotland at Murrayfield ahead of Scotland’s pre-World Cup friendly with France; notes that 15 children aged from P2 to S1 performed the national anthem using Makaton, an adapted form of British Sign Language, to a capacity 66,181 crowd; acknowledges that the group’s journey to BT Murrayfield came about after Scottish Rugby noticed that pupils posted a video of their performance of Flower of Scotland online with #AsOne, as part of a classroom exercise in online communication and how to use a hashtag; thanks the pupils for attending the match and providing such an inspiring performance to all who were present, and wishes the group the best for the future.
