Further to that, the Scottish Government is investing more than £125 million in the Aberdeen city region deal, and it further supports businesses in the region through initiatives such as the energy transition fund and the just transition fund.
As an example, I was informed that NatureScot has concerns with its levels of core grant funding. That was highlighted by its director, Nick Halfhide, at a recent Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee meeting.

The Minister undertook to write to the Committee on several issues, including the work of the Green Heat Finance Taskforce and the resources available to the National Public Energy Agency.
Following the evidence session, the Minister moved motion S6M-03605—
That the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee recommends that the Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategies (Scotland) Order 2022 [draft] be approved.
The petition calls on the Parliament to protect the future of the taxi trade by providing financial support to taxi drivers, setting up a national stakeholder group with trade union driver representatives and reviewing low-emission standards and implementation dates. Transport Scotland has confirmed that a meeting was initiated and facilitated by Glasgow City Council with Unite, the Energy Saving Trust and Transport Scotland.
The Finance and Constitution Committee considered replacement funding this session and recommended that Scotland’s share of a Fund should be no less than funds received as Structural Funds, and that it must be flexible to fund Scottish priorities.
