There is a great deal in the strategy that we can share with our European counterparts; there is also, of course, a great deal that we can learn.As part of the lifelong learning strategy for Scotland, we will promote increased investment in lifelong learning institutions by continuing to help them to take up European funding and, specifically, to make more use of the European Investment Bank for capital funding. The strategy also sets out objectives for the enterprise networks—to strengthen our skills base and to ensure that Futureskills Scotland and Careers Scotland play an increasingly active role in developing our understanding of labour market requirements.The context in which we meet has some positive aspects.
