Official Report Meeting date: 21 June 2005

Procedures Committee, 21 Jun 2005

Do any members feel that we should be taking evidence from anyone else on the reappointments issue? I am not sure how we get extra evidence on that. I understand Karen Gillon's point, but I am not sure about what the other options would be.
Official Report Meeting date: 25 May 2005

Public Petitions Committee, 25 May 2005

That could be a way for the proposal to proceed, if the petitioner could get a member to do that. I got slated in the newspapers because I like "Flower of Scotland".
Official Report Meeting date: 24 May 2005

European and External Relations Committee, 24 May 2005

However, I feel that it would be appropriate to build into our timetable an opportunity to review progress in a year or so. We could get an update from the Executive on its progress on the recommendations in the report, with which it agreed, by and large.

Official Report Meeting date: 2 March 2005

Public Petitions Committee, 02 Mar 2005

In particular, I welcome the fact that Executive officials will work with Enable to consider the demand for services by older carers—that gets to the heart of the petition. The Executive is about to monitor the partnership in practice agreements for 2004-07, if it is not already doing so, and it has said helpfully that it will identify key themes from that w...
Official Report Meeting date: 3 February 2005

Plenary, 03 Feb 2005

That is not about responding to parliamentary pressures but about getting things right for patients. I want to make sure that our oral health strategy is the right one, which will make a difference for the communities that Shona Robison seeks to represent in her question.
Official Report Meeting date: 25 January 2005

Edinburgh Tram (Line One) Bill Committee, 25 Jan 2005

Yes, given that the group did not exist until recently. That is entirely reasonable and I get the sense that the committee agrees.
Official Report Meeting date: 7 December 2004

Audit Committee, 07 Dec 2004

I have just noticed that, in true civil service fashion, the response talks about a "multi-agency review team … an expanded contingency planning group"and"a performance review system". I would prefer the SPS to get prisoners safely from point A to point B and back again. It is good that different agencies are speaking to each other.
