Poverty in a society has nothing to do with bank balances; it has everything to do with being able to provide for oneself and one's family the parts of life that allow one to be normal in the society in which one lives, rather than being shoved aside and made to feel that one is not part of it.

At the weekend, I was up by Loch Tay and saw a mobile Royal Bank of Scotland van. There is much less service provision in rural areas than in urban areas, and retaining private limited companies with businesses in small properties in those areas will retain jobs and services.
